Training & Development Modules
Media101.org is the portal to 'Media – a power for good', a premium training resource specifically designed to increase the proficiency and overall capability of broadcasters. It is a user-friendly and a cost effective means of upskilling new - and not so new, broadcasters in best practice.
This first series focuses primarily on radio broadcasting and includes 12 modules - each comprising a video and study guide. Presented in plain English, they are designed as stand-alone, self-directed training resources.
The video modules are all under 15 minutes in duration, allowing for shorter attention spans and the ease of replaying again. They are produced to HD broadcast standard and are delivered ‘on demand’ via media101.org
The associated one and two page study guides can be downloaded for local storage and/or printing. They invite participants to interact with the videos and include interesting activities to engage those viewing by asking them to apply the new ideas to their own context, and to help anchor their learning.
So, what is included?
Nine of the modules in Series One are 101 level 'knowledge and skill' based training. They are pitched at frontline radio broadcasting staff, particularly those who present and produce programmes. The focus is on getting the fundamentals right.
Leadership and Influence
As well as providing training in best practice for new frontline staff, and being a refresher for more experienced broadcasters, the series also includes a number of professional development modules on ‘leadership’ to directly benefit those with team supervision responsibilities. The objective is not just to increase knowledge and skill, but also promote personal character formation and the right attitudes.
'Media – a power for good' is a keystone resource and it is available now... to upskill broadcasters in best practice, equipping them to produce quality programming... and to help build the overall capability of media organisations internationally.
